Destination: Alimia
The route takes you along one of the least visited coastlines of Rhodes before crossing to Chalki and continuing to the island of Alimia, which sits just beside it.
From here, the experience continues on the water with swimming stops and island exploration.
Boat Cruise from Plimmiri to Alimia
Alimia is one of those places that most people in Rhodes have never heard of, and almost none have visited. It sits just a short distance from Chalki, small, uninhabited and almost completely untouched.
The route from Plimmiri takes you past the tip of Prasonisi, along the western coastline of Rhodes with a snorkelling stop at Fournoi Apolakkias, and then across to Chalki. From Chalki, Alimia is just minutes away by boat, making it a natural extension of the same trip.
Alimia has a sheltered bay with remarkably clear water, a ruined Italian-era settlement from the Second World War, and an atmosphere of total stillness that is rare even by Greek island standards. There are no tourists, no beach bars and no noise. Just the island, the sea and your group.
Most visitors who come to this part of Rhodes by boat choose between Chalki and Alimia. With Tropida you get both, since the two islands are close enough to include in the same full day without rushing.
This is a full day on the sea, done at your own pace, with no fixed itinerary and no rush.
What you’ll experience
⚓ Departure from Plimmiri
A quiet marina on the south coast of Rhodes, far from busy ports. Your cruise begins in total calm, setting the tone for the full day ahead.
🌊 Prasonisi
The southern tip of Rhodes, where the Aegean and Mediterranean meet. A dramatic start to the open sea crossing westward.
🤿 Fourni Apolakkias
A remote stretch of coastline with rocky seabed and excellent visibility. One of the best snorkelling spots on the island, with almost no one around.
🏝️ Chalki Island
A small unhurried island with a picturesque harbour and crystal clear water. A natural stop on the way to Alimia.
🏝️ Alimia Island
An uninhabited island just beside Chalki, with a sheltered bay, remarkably clear water and an atmosphere of total stillness. Almost no boats come here.
Why Visit Alimia by Boat
Alimia is only reachable by private boat. There is no ferry, no scheduled service and no tourist infrastructure on the island. The only way to experience it is exactly like this, arriving from the sea on your own schedule.
Because it sits so close to Chalki, combining both islands in a single full day cruise from Plimmiri is not only possible but natural. Most travellers have to choose one or the other. With this cruise, you get both.

Captain Savvas was an exceptional host. We highly recommend a day out with Tropida Boat Adventures. Every aspect was excellent; stops at bays for swimming, fruit platter and cheese platter, drinks, music. Any event catered for. We recommend adding the onboard barbecue option to your day. A must do when in Rhodes. Thank you Captain Savvas.Posted on Google Hanna KarbowskiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was an amazing time with Savva! The six of us had a great time on his boat, snorkeling and chilling in the sun with wine, drinks and a fruit plate. Savva was very professional and helped us out with everything we needed. He even prepared small cakes for our friend who celebrated her birthday. We contacted Savva on click a boat with regards to the itinerary we wanted to do. He responded straight away. He kept us informed and in contact with us daily where to meet at the marina and what would be included in the trip. He made us safe from the get go especially in a foreign country and booking over the internet. He did not disappoint. He met us at reception and took us to his boat. He was so friendly especially to the kids. Treated us like family from the start. We went on our trip and we couldn’t have expected anything more. Savva explained parts we were visiting. We stopped at each spot and had as long as we wanted to swim. There was no set times of when we had to be back. He allowed us to explore and enjoy our time with the children and make amazing memories. We wasn’t rushed at all. When we got back on the boat after our first stop there was a massive fruit bowl. Best fruit I’ve tasted. We chatted and then off to our second stop. We did 5 stops altogether and took us around 4 hours. He wasn’t rushing to get back like most companies would. If we went over he said it wouldn’t be a problem. After the 3rd stop he put us a lovely cheese & meat bored. Just enough to fill the gap in our bellies ready for another stop and jump. Drinks were there whenever we wanted. He Let the kids explore inside the boat also. They were amazed. We were given life jackets from the start as my little one was abit nervous. Savvas made him feel at ease straight away. Gave them flippers for their feet which made them happy. My little one has never been so confidence in the water as he did then. He got the paddle board out for the kids to use which was lovely as they’ve never done that before. He let the kids jump off the little board which they loved. All these little things made the trip so personal. The best little idea which I didn’t think of was a waterproof camera. Savva gave us one to take as many pics as we wanted. So thankful for this as we took some great and not so great ones lol. On the way back we all sat on the front of the boat. What an experience. We spoke, swam, laughed and drank. Nothing was too much for Savvas. He was a great host. He even offered to let the boys fish on the way back which was a dream for my eldest. It was just right. It was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t thank Savvas enough. Yes we paid more for a private boat than what you would to go in a big group but it was so worth it. By the time we got home we had the photos emailed to us straight away.Posted on Google ChrissaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very nice experience!
